Man Charged With Sexual Extortion Of Bensalem Woman
A 20-year-old man from Berks County, Antonio Nieves of Birdsboro, has been charged with sextortion and other offenses after allegedly creating an Instagram account to threaten his ex-girlfriend with the release of compromising photos.
Nieves was arrested and arraigned earlier this month on charges of Sexual Extortion, Stalking, and Harassment, all of which are misdemeanors.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Nieves is accused of attempting to extort his 18-year-old ex-girlfriend from Bensalem by using an anonymous Instagram account to threaten the release of compromising photos taken when she was a minor.
The victim reported to police that the individual behind the account harassed her, sent her copies of compromising photos, and demanded more nude photos under threat of posting them online.
Nieves has allegedly admitted to creating it to extort the victim as well as admitting to knowing the victim was underage when the photos were taken. Nieves had a romantic relationship with the woman when she was 16 or 17.
He was released on an unsecured $60,000 bond while awaiting a Preliminary hearing on June 20, 2024, in front of Judge Joesph P. Falcone.
Nieves’ last arrest came in 2023 for Receiving Stolen Property, a felony, and Unauthorized Use Of A Motor Vehicle according to court records.
