Bridge Construction in Bensalem
PennDOT has announced that bridge construction will continue on U.S. 1 and Rockhill Drive under a $95 million project to reconstruct, widen and improve a 1.3-mile section of U.S. 1 in Bensalem Township.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Monday, October 17, through Thursday, October 20, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a right lane closure with periodic stoppages of up to 15 minutes is planned on northbound U.S. 1 between the Pennsylvania Turnpike Interchange and the Bristol Road overpass; and
- Monday, October 17, through Thursday, October 20, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a flagger-controlled single-lane traffic pattern with periodic 15-minute stoppages is scheduled on Rockhill Drive between Horizon Boulevard and Neshaminy Boulevard.
Motorists are reminded that the ramp to southbound U.S. 1 from Rockhill Drive remains closed and detoured during construction at the Neshaminy Interchange.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through or near the work areas. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
