On Friday, January 16, 2026, the Xcite Center at Parx Casino will host a performance by the legendary progressive metal band Queensrÿche, presented by WMMR.
Coming off a major North American tour supporting Judas Priest, the band is celebrating the release of their 16th studio album, Digital Noise Alliance. This album marks a creative rejuvenation for the group, born out of the isolation of the pandemic. Founding guitarist Michael Wilton and vocalist Todd La Torre approached the project with a “back to basics” philosophy, writing face-to-face and recording in real-time with producer Zeuss. To capture the authentic spirit of their classic era, they even utilized vintage amplifiers from the recording sessions of their seminal albums like Operation: Mindcrime and Empire.
The current lineup features original members Wilton and bassist Eddie Jackson, joined by La Torre, guitarist Mike Stone, and drummer Casey Grillo. Together, they strive to balance the band’s rich history with a modern edge. Often hailed as the “Thinking Man’s Metal Band,” Queensrÿche continues to explore cerebral themes such as politics, religion, and social injustice, proving they remain as vital and thought-provoking as ever.
