About the Band Grand Funk Railroad, known as “The American Band,” formed in 1969 in Flint, Michigan, and became one of the top-selling rock acts of the 70s. They are celebrated for their high-energy arena rock style and soulful vocals. The current lineup features founding members Don Brewer (vocals/drums) and Mel Schacher (bass), joined by all-star musicians Max Carl (formerly of 38 Special), Mark Chatfield (Bob Seger’s Silver Bullet Band), and Tim Cashion.
Their setlist for the “Still Shinin’ On Tour” promises timeless hits such as “We’re an American Band,” “The Loco-Motion,” “Some Kind of Wonderful,” and “I’m Your Captain/Closer to Home”.
