Bensalem Council Agenda Preview
Bensalem Council will meet this Monday, January 5th, to discuss the reorganization of the township government for the new year. Here is what is on the docket for the upcoming meeting.
The Big Ticket Item:
Annual Reorganization and Swearing-In Ceremony:
The meeting will kick off with the swearing-in of newly elected and re-elected officials. Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo will take the oath of office, followed by Council Members Jesse Sloane, Ed Tokmajian, Jr., and Joseph Wenzel. Additionally, Zachery Winters will be sworn in as Auditor and Mike Brill as Treasurer.
Following the ceremony, Council is set to vote on its new leadership for 2026, including the election of a Council President, Vice President, and Township Secretary.
Why it matters:
This meeting sets the tone and leadership structure for the year. The selection of the Council President will determine who leads the meetings and sets the agenda for the next 12 months.

- Appointments: Council will vote to appoint a Township Solicitor, Engineering Firm, and Department Directors for 2026.
- Board Members: The Mayor will seek advice and consent for appointments to numerous vital boards, including the Planning Commission, Zoning Hearing Board, and Gaming Advisory Board.
