The Bensalem Police Department today announced the arrest of Jamell Oglesby, 30 years old from Philadelphia. Oglesby was suspected along with another unidentified male, in a spree of robberies that included Walmart stores in Bensalem and Warminster as well as similar robberies in Philadelphia, Deptford, NJ, and Delaware.
The latest incident happened on June 22, 2022, when Oglesby and the unidentified male entered the Horizon Boulevard Walmart and approached the register with a bottle of Snapple. When one male handed the cashier money, the other male went behind the counter, pinned the cashier against the counter, claimed he had a gun, and removed approximately $1500 in cash. Both males then fled the store in a black 2021 Lexus ES 250 sedan with Florida plates. Later that same day the two black males entered the Walmart in Warminster where they used to same tactics to steal $1165 from the register.
A member of the FBI BucksMont Safe Streets Task Force, in the early morning of June 29, 2022, located the black Lexus ES 250. The officer observed Oglesby get into the driver’s seat and recognized him as one of the suspects in these robberies. Philadelphia Police conducted a traffic stop and detained the driver.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as Jamell Oglesby was transported to the Bensalem Township Police Department where he was interviewed and charged with 3 counts of Robbery Robbery, 3 counts of criminal Conspiracy, 3 Counts of Theft by Unlawful Taking, 3 Counts of Receiving Stolen Property, 3 Counts Simple Assault and 3 Counts of Terroristic Threats.
Oglesby was arraigned by District Justice Terry Hughes on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at 8:00 pm, and sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on $750,000 Bail.
