The Bensalem School District is reminding parents that free breakfast and lunch for ALL Bensalem students has ended as of the end of June this year. The waiver from the U.S. Department of Agriculture which allowed the suspension of the eligibility requirements for the National School Lunch Program expired at the end of June.
This waiver enabled all Bensalem Students to receive free breakfast and lunch, regardless of the family’s economic status.
Free breakfast and lunch for all had been available to Bensalem students since March of 2020.
The Bensalem School District Food Service Department’s Free Summer Meals Program is still available through August 12th, with their Owls On The Go Summer Lunch Bus running until August 11th. The program is open to all children from 1 to 18.
