Bensalem Township School Board Regular Action Meeting – December 16th 2025

The Big Takeaway

If you regularly attend or watch school board meetings, mark your calendars: the schedule is changing. Starting January 2026, Regular Action Meetings will now be held on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 7:30 p.m., rather than Tuesdays.

The Board also began the process of regulating Artificial Intelligence in classrooms, introducing a new policy on “Generative Artificial Intelligence in Education” for a first reading.

For The Parents (Policy & Curriculum)

  • AI in the Classroom: The Board held a “First Read” on Policy 815.1 regarding the use of Generative AI. This is the first step in setting official rules for how tools like ChatGPT can (or cannot) be used by students and staff.
  • Dual Enrollment: A Memorandum of Understanding with Bucks County Community College was approved, continuing dual enrollment and high school enrichment opportunities for students.
  • High School Course Selection: The Board approved updates to the Bensalem High School Program of Studies for the 2026-2027 school year. This includes an amendment ensuring students have continued learning options beyond the introductory Digital Photography sequence.
  • Safety Upgrades (Parochial): The Board approved the purchase of security window film for St. Ephrem’s School, paid for through a dedicated safety grant.

The Price Tag (Spending & Contracts)

  • Microsoft Servers: $85,000 (approx) – Approved a purchasing group agreement for Microsoft Server products, not to exceed this amount.
  • Junior Prom: Approved a contract with Falls Manor to host the Junior Prom.
  • Snow Removal: Approved an agreement with Foraker Landscaping to handle snow removal coverage through April 2026.
