RECALL ALERT – Aldi Recalls Several Cream Cheese Products

On May 9th, Aldi stores issued a recall on several of its cream cheese products over possible salmonella contamination.

The supermarket chain said it was recalling 8 oz. packages of its Happy Farms brand Whipped Cream Cheese Spread, Chive & Onion Cream Cheese Spread, Cream Cheese Spread, and Strawberry Cream Cheese Spread products with the following “Sell by” dates:

The recalled spreads were sold at Aldi stores in Pennsylvania and 27 other states. Aldi said the recall is in cooperation with Schreiber Foods, Inc., and out of an abundance of caution.

Customers who have these products are advised to discard them immediately or return them to their local Aldi store for a full refund.

In cooperation with Schreiber Foods, Inc., and out of an abundance of caution, ALDI Inc., (“ALDI”) recalls its Happy Farms Whipped Cream Cheese Spread, Chive & Onion Cream Cheese Spread, Cream Cheese Spread, and Strawberry Cream Cheese Spread products. The affected products are recalled due to potential salmonella.

ALDI puts the safety and integrity of the products it sells first. If customers have products affected by this recall, they are advised to discard it immediately or return it to their local store for a full refund. Salmonella infections can lead to symptoms such as fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain. In rare cases, these bacterial infections can be fatal, according to the FDA. Young children, individuals over 65, and those with weakened immune systems are at a higher risk of experiencing serious illness.
