Kyle Pennypacker, New Parks and Recreation Director
After unanimous approval by the Bensalem Township Council, Kyle Pennypacker has been named the new Parks and Recreation Director.
With the retirement of former Director Chuck McMullin, Mayor DiGirolamo recommended Kyle Pennypacker for the promotion, saying that he had worked under McMullen “for many years and has done a great job.”
Pennypacker began his time with the township during his senior year at Bensalem High School at the amphitheater and in the Bensalem Summer Recreation Program.
For the past five years, Kyle Pennypacker worked full-time in the department, first as maintenance manager of all the parks and then as park manager.
The Director oversees Bensalem’s 30 parks, including First Responders Field and the Penn Community Amphitheater.
“You have some big shoes to fill,” “We will work together with you to make sure you’re successful.” Council Vice President Joseph Pilieri
“We’re all excited about this,” Council President Edward Kisselback said at Monday night’s Township Council meeting.
Mayor DiGirolamo said he had offered the position to longtime Assistant Director Sabrina Stancil. Stancil was next in line for McMullen’s position, but she declined the offer.
