The Bensalem Police Department announced 13 more arrests to close out July, bringing their total to 78 for the month. This month alone, the losses from retail theft are estimated to be $29,500.

This figure includes only those individuals whom the police have been able to identify and arrest, or for whom a warrant has been issued. The Bensalem Police Department claims a clearance rate of 62% in retail crime, meaning this total is significantly higher.

The Bensalem Police continue to do the best they can and we as a community need to do the best that we can. If you see someone shoplifting, inform the store’s staff, and if you recognize someone you see in these reports, call the police or fill out the anonymous tip form.

In this week’s roundup, we only want to highlight one person. The 13-year-old from Trevose caught stealing almost $800 worth of items from Kohls.

The department will post a list of people arrested for Retail Theft and related charges in Bensalem Township each week.
