Fatal Overnight Crash on Street Road Claims One Life, Injures Two Others

Share

A tragic high-speed collision claimed the life of a 44-year-old man from Brooklyn, NY, and left two others injured in the early hours of Tuesday morning. The accident, which involved a vehicle bursting into flames, occurred on Street Road near the busy I-95 interchange, forcing a lengthy closure of one of Bensalem’s primary traffic arteries.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after 2:30 a.m. to find a chaotic scene involving two vehicles and a car fire that required immediate intervention to save those trapped inside.

The Details

According to investigators, the incident began when a speeding vehicle traveling eastbound on Street Road struck another car. The impact was severe enough to cause one of the vehicles to ignite. Bensalem Police and fire crews worked quickly to extricate two individuals from the burning wreckage. Those two victims, 43-year-old Farruh Homidov and 39-year-old Askar Narziev, were rushed to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital; they are currently listed in critical condition.

The driver of the second vehicle, Timur Khabelov, was not as fortunate. Authorities confirmed that a man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have spent much of the morning processing evidence and reconstructing the crash to determine the exact sequence of events. While speed is considered a primary factor, Police say they have not ruled out the involvement of drugs or alcohol in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.

Why It Matters to Bensalem

For Bensalem residents, this stretch of Street Road (Route 132) near the I-95 ramps is one of the most heavily traveled areas in the township. This accident caused significant commuter delays throughout the morning rush hour.

More importantly, this tragedy highlights ongoing safety concerns regarding speed and late-night visibility at major local intersections.
