Dandelion: A Remembrance
Sunday, June 9th, 2024, 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Surviving members of Philadelphia Grunge Pioneers DANDELION will reunite to celebrate the life of their bandmate Kevin Morpurgo. Special guests include Marcus Durant and Gibbous Moon.
Dandelion will be performing their seminal album “I Think I’m Gonna Be Sick” in its entirety. They will be joined by special guests throughout the night. This is a show no grunge fan should miss.
Dandelion’s lineup at the show will include original band members Mike Morpurgo (bass), Carl Hinds (guitar), and Dante Cimino (drums). Performing lead vocals will be Marcus Durant, who was one of Kevin’s best friends, a former member of MC5, and is currently the lead singer of The Detroit Cobras.
“I Think I’m Gonna Be Sick” was released in May of 1993 on Ruffhouse Records, a Philadelphia-based company, and distributed by Columbia Records/Sony Music. Critical excitement about the album, and its airplay on college and alt-rock stations across the country, created coast-to-coast touring opportunities and significant support for Dandelion’s music on MTV.
Proceeds from the concert will benefit a fund that will be created at Good Grief, which is an organization that helps grieving families and children who have suffered from the loss of a loved one.
Doors open at 6:00 PM, Music at 8 PM
