Clusters Playground Joins Executive & Coves In Closure

The Bensalem Township announced yesterday afternoon on X (Twitter) that Clusters playground on Portsmouth Lane is currently closed for replacement until further notice. The closure is necessary so that the playground equipment can be replaced.

Clusters Playground joins Executive Park Playground and Coves Park which were closed on June 3rd and April 23rd respectively, in order to update the space into a more modern play area.  Many of Bensalem’s playgrounds are slated for upgrade over the next five years. We believe this is the last closure for a replacement for the year. However, we reserve the right to be wrong.

As we reported last month, Bensalem Township is working on locking down the funding to overhaul Imagination Land to add additional features for children with disabilities, including a wheelchair-accessible merry-go-round. That construction, if all goes according to plan, would begin in January 2025.

There is currently no estimate on when any of the playgrounds will reopen.  Kyle Pennypacker Director of Bensalem’s parks and recreation department, has said typical playground installations do not take long.
