Bensalem Police seize $1.5 million in drugs, guns, and cash
The Bensalem Township Police Department has announced that their Special Investigations Unit (SIU) along with agents from the FBI and members of the Bucks and Montgomery Counties Safe Streets Task Force had conducted 2 simultaneous large-scale narcotics seizures on August 18, 2022, resulting in the seizure of $1.5 million in drug, guns, and cash.
Following a 3 month long investigation, the Bensalem SIU and FBI agents conducted surveillance at an unnamed Bensalem hotel and ended up in the arrest of 26-year-old Veronica Wheeler and 30-year-old Korey Mancera, both from Kansas City, KS.
During the arrest, police seized 4 Kilograms of suspected Fentanyl with an estimated street value of $1.3 Million Dollars.
Korey Mancera and Veronica Wheeler were both charged with Manufacture, Sale, or Delivery of a Controlled Substance and related offenses and arraigned by District Justice Frank Peranteau, Sr., and sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on $1,000,000 bail.
The second part of the simultaneous operation yielded similar results
Simultaneously, Bensalem Detectives with members of the Bucks/Montgomery County Safe Streets Task Force, and the FBI were following up on information about a methamphetamine and heroin ring based out of the Kensington section of Philadelphia.
Surveillance in the parking lot of a local Bensalem store yielded the arrests of Jonathan Vazquez, 29 years old, and Angel Molina, 26 years old, both from Philadelphia. Police then executed a search warrant at a home in the 3200 block of Hurley Street in Philadelphia.
During the execution of the search warrant, police seized 332 grams of crack cocaine, 375 grams of Hydro, 454 grams of cocaine, 175 grams of Heroin/Fentanyl, 252 grams of Methamphetamine, and 89 Xanax pills with a street value of approximately $150,000, along with $37,000 in cash, an assault rifle, and 4 handguns.
Both Jonathan Vasquez and Angel Molina were charged with Manufacture, Sale, or Delivery of a Controlled Substance and related offenses and were arraigned by District Justice Frank Peranteau, Sr., and sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on $1,000,000 bail.
Second huge bust for Bensalem Police this year
This is the second large-scale seizure by the Bensalem Police Department this year. On June 8th of this year, the Special Investigations Unit in conjunction with the Philadelphia DEA HIDTA Task Force seized approximately 40,000 fentanyl pills, 11 pounds of methamphetamine, and $5,000.00 in cash. Effectively taking over a million dollars of illegal narcotics off the street.
