Bensalem Police Announce Major Gas Leak Contained
At around 11:00 this morning Bensalem Police, Fire Department, and EMS crews were on location for a major natural gas leak at the intersection of Bristol Road and Bensalem Blvd.
Residents were asked to leave their homes and the area was cleared while crews worked on repairing the gas main.
The Bensalem Police have now sounded the all-clear, and say residents are safe to return to their homes, and all roadways are fully reopened.
It had been reported that the gas leak was as loud as a jet engine and could be heard from several blocks away. There is currently no word on what caused the leak.
While there was a construction crew in the area, officials have not said if the crew had accidently hit the gas main.
