Bensalem PD Breakup 300 Car Meetup At Neshaminy Mall
Shortly before midnight on Saturday, October 15th, Bensalem Police responded to numerous 911 calls about a large number of vehicles at Neshaminy Mall. When they rolled up, police discovered anywhere from 250 to 300 vehicles in the parking lot. The same group had driven down from the Oxford Valley Mall earlier that night.
An audience of hundreds watched as the vehicles turn donuts and did burnouts in the middle of the crowd.
Police were able to disband and move the large group of vehicles out of the Neshaminy Mall without incident. It was discovered that the same group continued on to the Willow Grove Mall after being removed by the police.
This has been a growing problem for many communities in Southeastern Pennsylvania and with that in mind, the Bensalem Township Police Department say they have drafted an action plan to address this type of incident should occur again in the township.
“The safety and quality of life of our residents is of the utmost importance and the Bensalem Township Police Department will not tolerate this type of illegal activity.” “All violators will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law once they are identified.”
Partnering with the PA State Police and other local municipalities, they vow to utilize every technology at their combined disposal to identify and cite all vehicles and persons that choose to engage in this activity.
The police are asking that if you have any information about the identity of anyone involved in Saturday night’s incident, to please contact Bensalem Police. And more importantly, if you see any social media posts or hear that there will be another gathering like this one, we would like to know about it right away.
