Bensalem Hiring Community Service Officers
The Bensalem Township Police Department is accepting applications for the Community Service Officer (CSO) position.
A CSO is a non-sworn position with various responsibilities in the police department, including operating the local dispatch center radio and data entry equipment. The CSO will also be responsible for fingerprinting/photographing prisoners, maintaining prisoner safety, enforcing parking violations, stickering/towing abandoned vehicles, and assisting with crossing guard posts and traffic when needed.
A CSO may also be asked to assist with the Township Emergency Management System, compiling data for the Criminal Investigations Division, and act as a liaison between the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas and juvenile court.
Salary: $23.90/hour to start; $31.85/hour after three years of employment. Requirements: Must gain residency in Bensalem Township within one year of employment. May move within 12 miles of the border of the township after five years of residency.
High School Diploma or Equivalent Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities Completing mandatory training for the position as determined by the established training schedule
Must meet qualifications to operate the CLEAN/NCIC system as outlined by the PA State Police and the FBI.
Must meet minimum physical and medical standards Must be weight/height proportional
Must possess a valid Commonwealth of PA Motor Vehicle Operators License Must be able to work 8 or 12-hour shifts as dictated by assignment
