Bensalem Council Meeting Preview – Industrial Addition and Police Awards Set for March 9th

The Bensalem Township Council will meet this Monday to discuss a new industrial expansion and significant financial releases for local developments. Here is what is on the docket for the upcoming meeting.


The meeting will begin with high-profile recognitions as Director William McVey presents official awards to the Bensalem Police Department.

  • Officer of the Year: Officer Mark Wildsmith is set to be named the Officer of the Year for 2025.
  • Life Saving Awards: Both Officer Wildsmith and Officer Krystopher Harley will receive Life Saving Awards for their service.
  • Athletic Excellence: Council will also host a “Night of Champions” to honor the Bensalem Hockey Team for their 2026 MSA Championship victory.

The Big Ticket Item: Industrial Expansion at 1642 Woodhaven Drive

James Mee (Creative Architectural Metals, Inc.) is seeking approval for a Minor Land Development plan. The applicant is proposing an addition to an existing building located at 1642 Woodhaven Drive, which sits within a Light Industrial (L-I) zoning classification.

Why it matters: This expansion represents continued industrial growth within the township’s manufacturing corridors.

  • Significant Spending: Council is set to vote on a substantial escrow release of $671,499.50 for the development located at 700 Bristol Pike.
  • Board Appointments: The Mayor will seek the advice and consent of Council for several appointments, including three members to the Environmental Advisory Board and one member to the Veterans Affairs Advisory Board.
  • Auditor Position: Council will hold a discussion regarding the appointment of the Township Auditor.
