Serial Burglary Suspect Arrested After Ramming Bensalem Business

Share

Bensalem Police have arrested a 56-year-old man linked to a series of “ram-raid” burglaries across the region.

The investigation began on December 2, 2025, after a dark Chevy Silverado smashed through the glass front doors of Bob Nolan’s Auto Service on Bristol Pike. Surveillance footage showed the driver entering the business through the shattered glass and stealing a cash register.

Detectives connected the vehicle and method to similar crimes in Philadelphia, Bucks, Montgomery, and Chester counties, identifying the suspect as Richard Sturts.

On December 18, officers were alerted that Sturts’ vehicle had entered the township. Police located the truck near the Cornwells Train Station Park and Ride and arrested Sturts, who was found walking nearby. He reportedly admitted to the break-in at Bob Nolan’s and others in the area.

Sturts is currently being held at Bucks County Prison on $150,000 bail.
