Extreme Heat Forces Cancellation of Races at Parx Racing
Parx Racing canceled its scheduled races on Tuesday due to an extreme heat forecast for our area. The heat index values were expected to soar as high as 109 degrees.
The National Weather Service has issued an extreme heat warning which will remain in effect until 8:00 pm tonight.
We are supposed to see some showers and possibly a thunderstorm before midnight, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between midnight and 2 am. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall and potentially damaging winds.
With the heat index not expected to be as high Parx Racing is slated to resume racing today with Post Time at 12:40 pm.
