This isn’t just a jam session; it’s a high-stakes musical showdown where local groups compete for the prestigious title of “2026 MGK House Band,” earning the right to perform at major station events throughout the year.
This week’s semi-final round features a diverse lineup of regional talent: Jolly Monroe, Lobster Tot Martini, Salvatize, and Away Message. Each band will deliver a high-octane set of classic rock covers, including a mandatory “mystery” classic rock song hand-picked by WMGK to test their chops. Expect to hear everything from anthemic 70s stadium rock to 90s guitar-driven favorites as these bands vie for a spot in the Grand Finals.
This is the second of three preliminary rounds taking place every Wednesday in February. The winner of tonight’s showcase will move on to the final battle on February 25th.
