2024 Bensalem Police Memorial Service
A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 20th in honor of two Bensalem Police officers who were killed in the line of duty. Officer Robert Yezzi and Officer James Armstrong.
The memorial service will begin at 10:00 am.

Light refreshments will be served in the lobby of the Municipal Building following the conclusion of the service.
Officer Robert Yezzi
Officer Yezzi was killed when he was struck by a vehicle while on a pedestrian stop when one of the two individuals brandished a knife causing Officer Yezzi to back up into the street. All three were struck by an automobile whose vision was obstructed by the police vehicle’s lights. The knife-wielding suspect was convicted of aggravated assault on a police officer
Officer Yezzi was 29 years old.
Officer James Armstrong
Officer Armstrong was shot and killed during a felony traffic stop of a suspect who had committed an armed robbery in Bristol Township. The suspect shot and killed Officer Armstrong and seriously wounded his K9 partner
The suspect fled to Philadelphia where he was arrested three weeks later. 29-year-old was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison. In 1998 he was denied a new trial.
Officer Armstrong was 28 years old.
